  • HAVANA, CUBA - MARCH 27: Food distribution office on March 27, 2008 in Havana, Cuba. All Cubans are entitled to essential food rations consisted of: rice, flour, soap, sugar, oil, toothpaste. Food distribution system dates back to early days of Castro's regime and even today government supply basic needs to its citizens. Those services include: food rations, healthcare, homes for elderly people and free education. However the provisions and services provided by the government are of very poor quality and low standard.
  • HAVANA, CUBA - MARCH 27: Scene from day care home for elderly people on April 3, 2008 in Havana, Cuba. State offers complimentary day care system for retired people for a nominal price of 1USD a month. State pays the fee for those that can't afford it. Day care centers are distributed thru municipalities and offer basic medical service, three meals a day and physiotherapy.

Each neighborhood has its office and monthly meetings are regularly held, during those meetings appointed officers analize behaviour of the citizens and eventually point the potential subversive elements and troublemakers.
